Looking back at some of the older miniatures I had painted, I often wonder if I was trying to paint by candle light. These were painted about fifteen-plus-years ago. I am not really sure why I hadn't removed all of the flash or why I didn't even paint in solid colors? Why did I just stop? I get a good laugh out of all of it.
I fully plan on returning to these miniatures and finishing them. I will brighten them up significantly with a mix of older style paints and modern; solid bright style 90's colors with contrast to speed up areas that traditionally took more time.
I do not plan on sealing these with a varnish when they are done. This will give me the ability to revisit them again, maybe make them a little gritty in some areas or at least practice that skill before I get to the newer miniature range.
